hartmann• Alexandria City Manager, James K. Hartmann. Mr. Hartmann has served as Alexandria's chief administrative officer since January 10, 2005. He is responsible for overseeing a budget of over $500 million and a workforce of more than 2,500 employees. The City Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the government and appoints all City department heads and employees, except court and school personnel. Mr. Hartmann will make brief remarks and will respond to your questions and concerns about the city. From parking, to development, to traffic, to parks, bring your questions, praise, and concerns to the next meeting for Mr. Hartmann to hear.

• Carr Homes. Stephen Ness of Carr Homes will update us on construction of the condominiums at the corner of Cameron and Henry Streets. Demolition is complete. Construction begins soon.

• Vote on Amending Bylaws. There are three basic changes proposed to existing Bylaws: (1) membership, (2) boundaries, and (3) correct meeting date.

Membership. (A) Clarify that all persons 18 years of age or older may become voting members residing within the Association's boundaries, but that businesses, corporations and other entities are not eligible to become voting members. (B) Create a class of non-voting Associate Members for those who want to contribute to the Association, but are not eligible to become Members. (C) Increase the dues for Members from $5 to $10; establish dues for non-voting Associate Members at $25 per year.

Boundaries. Define UKSNA boundaries to include new residential areas and established areas not currently active. New boundaries would go from Cameron Street east to Patrick Street, south on Patrick Street to Duke Street, west on Duke Street to Callahan Road and Buchanan Street then back southeast to return to Cameron Street. Both sides of boundary streets would be included in area.

Correct Meeting Date. Correct the specified meeting time to reflect our normal meeting time as the third Monday of each month.
