Elementary

The nearest elementary school for UKSNA residents is the Jefferson-Houston School for Arts and Academics.  Jefferson-Houston offers elementary education for grades K-5 to about 300 students.  Jefferson-Houston's academic program includes reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, character counts education, and family life.   As of 2005, Jefferson-Houston has a new principal, Annette Shupe

Middle School

The George Washington Middle School educates local children for grades 6, 7, and 8.  The school draws from a larger district – approximately half of Alexandria – and prepares children for the new challenges ahead.  The principal is Grace Taylor.

Junior High School

The Minnie Howard Junior High School serves all of the ninth grade students in the public schools of Alexandria.  The academic program provides the transition from middle school to high school.

High School

Alexandria’s public high school is T.C. Williams High School.  Yes, as in “Remember the Titans.”  With nearly 200 licensed staff members, T.C. Williams is today one of the most respected, comprehensive high schools in the country.  T.C. Williams’ principal is Dr. Mel Riddile.
